On this day – April 28

On this day in 1760, during the French and Indian War, French General François de Lévis, with 5,000 soldiers and Indians, defeats Gen James Murray’s 3,900 English troops at the Battle of Sainte-Foy (Saratoga was one of the supply depots supporting the English armies during the war); in 1837, Philip Schuyler 2nd deeded his property to his attorney, Jacob VanVechten; in 1943 the movie “Random Harvest” played at The Theater ; and in 2001 the Schuylerville Methodist Church conducts clothing drive and the 8th annual March For Parks was conducted at the Saratoga National Historical Park.
