Veterans History Project

Our Nation’s owes a debt to our Veterans for their service and sacrifice to our Nation. You will find few communities that match the Town of Saratoga for awareness of the Veterans because not only are we the community that is home to the turning point of the American Revolution – the American Victory in battle at Saratoga but we are also the host community of the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.  Our community is committed to commemorates the rich history of our country’s protectors, and remind all of the accomplishments and struggles of our Veterans, past and present.

The Historian’s office is teaming up with the Library of Congress to record and preserve the accounts of veterans for the Veterans History Project.   The purpose of the Veterans History Project is to preserve and make accessible personal accounts from U.S. military veterans, so that future generations may better understand the realities of war.

In addition, the Historian’s office is asking for veterans or their family to fill out Historical Record of Military Service form.  VHP form
