On this day

On this day 1901, the Greenwich and Schuylerville Electric Railroad filed with the Secretary of State office a notice of Change of Route; in 1942, the USS Saratoga provided air cover for landing rehearsals in the Fiji Islands in preparation for landings on Guadalcanal; and in 2008, Cold War veteran and original member of the Green Sabres, Daniel Chiperno (b. Dec. 18, 1940) passed away.
