On this day

On this day in 1748, a soldiers at Saratoga, Thomas Anderson was executed for the attempted murder of an British officer and before the sentence was carried out, Anderson also confessed as “he was going to Saraghtoga” he shot a soldier (it was later presumed by the soldier was killed by the French); in 1782, General Washington was sent a letter that reported that the “enemy took three men from Fort Miller, about 5 miles above Saratoga, two parties were sent after them immediately but had not returned the last accounts’ from American General George Reed in Albany and in 1947, 36 individuals were part of the first graduation exercise at Schuylerville Central Schools.
