On this day

On this day in 1776, Congress votes to give General Schuyler authority to take any measures for supplying the troops in Canada with provisions; in 1942, the departed Puget Sound, WA (after repairs) for San Diego, CA; and in 1995 the USS Saratoga was taken to Philadelphia, PA to become part of the Navy’s inactive fleet.
