On this day

On this day in 1626, Dutch colonist Peter Minuit arrived on the wooded island of Manhattan in present-day New York; in 1835, hogs & cows banned from village of Schuylerville streets; in 1946, Frank Wilbur celebrated his 50th anniversary at White Cottage Farm; in 1948, residents voted to close District School #10 near the Quaker Meeting House; in 2000, the Old Saratoga Farmers Market began its second year at Saratoga Apple; and in 2002, the Fish Creek Garden Shoppe held its grand opening.
