On this day

On this day in 1928, the Board of Supervisors approved 2 new bridges in Grangerville; in 1968, civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., 39, was shot to death in Memphis, Tenn. and it was Schuylerville’s Joseph Canzeri, (16 May 1930 – 22 November 2004) who organized King’s funeral; in 1977, John Sherman was sworn in as Schuylerville mayor and in 1994, NYS DOT awarded a $94,880 grant to develop Schuyler Canal park.
