On this day

On this day in 1793, Eli Whitney patents the cotton gin; in 1864, an explosion leveled Bullard’s paper mill; in 1868, the impeachment trial of President Andrew Johnson began in the United States Senate; in 1968, the Schuylerville Library on Broad St. closed to be moved to the current location on Ferry Street and in 2002, the Village of Schuylerville conducted their annual meeting and Clerk Treasurer Julie Pratt provided her resignation date of April 5, 2002 including a presentation of a detailed listing of her accomplishments in her four year term as clerk-treasurer.
