On this day!

On this day, in 1704 Indians attack Deerfield, Mass. killing 40 and kidnapping 100. A similar raid happened in Saratoga in 1745. In 1827, the Methodist Episcopal Church was incorporated. In 1854, the Republican Party organized. In 1945, the village of Victory had annual expenses of $3,604.43. In 1993, a gun battle erupted near Waco, Texas, when Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agents tried to serve warrants on the Branch Davidians; four agents and six Davidians were killed as a 51-day standoff began. In 2003, the Black Horses won Section II C basketball title
