#onthisday in 1916 the Saratogian was reporting: “The Junior basketball team of the local high school defeated the Senior team in Olympian Hall yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock in a game of basketball by a score of 24 to 11. Thomas Dwyer was the referee. A large number of enthusiastic rooters for both teams from the school was present.”
Olympian Hall was built in 1873 and is still around although it is not used for basketball games. The hall is on the second and third story of 76/78 Broad Street in the Village of Schuylerville. It is upstairs in the current Dwell business.
