OTD: Victory village employee was injured on the job

#onthisday in 1964 a Victory village employee was injured on the job.
The Saratogian reported on 1 June 1964 the following: Venn Hurt in Tumble
Victory Mills—Wilfred Venn, street commissioner, escaped serious injury Friday morning while mowing grass along the paved walk in Gates Avenue.
Venn had reached a point in the street north of the George Sullivan residence when a portion of a steep embankment gave away under the weight of the tractor.
Nearing a 20-foot embankment and fearing the tractor would overturn, he jumped from the machine, lost his footing and rolled to the bottom of the embankment.
He received an injury to his shoulder, as well as bruises and is under care of a physician.
