Join Us to Commemorate the American Victory at Saratoga

Join the surrender ceremony commemorating the 238th Anniversary of the American Victory at Saratoga on Friday, October 16 at 10 AM at Fort Hardy Park in Schuylerville.  The ceremony location overlooks the Hudson River at the actual spot where the British troops surrendered their weapons to the Americans in 1777.  The ceremony includes the Schuylerville Elementary School children singing patriotic songs.  The Daughters and Sons of the American Revolution will lay wreaths to commemorate those that served in the battles.  The Saratoga National Historical Park and the Town of Saratoga Historians will portray Generals Burgoyne and Gates in the surrender sword exchange.  There will be a dramatic reading of the Baroness Reidesel’s memoir.  Assembly Member Carrie Woerner will address the audience.  Those gathered will have the opportunity to join in the recreated drinking (with Saratoga Apple cider) the original 13 toasts used to commemorate the victory in 1777.  The event is punctuated with the 2nd Continental Artillery firing cannons.  Fort Hardy Park is on Route 29 next to the Hudson River in Schuylerville.  The event is weather dependent and there is no rain date.  Learn more at
